Poison Dart Frog (Phyllobates terribillis)
Possibly the largest Dart frog, this bold, mint colored hopper can be found in the western coast of Columbia around the Saija River. John Daly discovered this Dart frog during an expedition to find frogs for medicinal purposes. Batrachotoxin, the primary poison it secretes, is thought to have come from a small beetle it commonly eats.
